Worksite Wellness Services
AdvancingWellness provides workplace wellness consulting services and programs to small- and medium-size businesses. We can help you design cost-effective wellness programs to produce measurable results – both for your employees and your bottom line. A worksite wellness initiative includes four phases:
Phase I: Assessment
In order to identify opportunities to both improve the health of your workforce and reduce your health care costs, we begin by gathering data about your employee population and your current costs. This is accomplished through the administration of a Health Risk Assessment (HRA), a confidential tool used to gather information on your employees’ current health status, lifestyle choices and interests. HRAs provide varying levels of detail and can be delivered either on-line or in paper form.
Phase II: Program Planning
Once the data are gathered, we work with you to design a workplace wellness program to accomplish your objectives. We will present you with options that address both the needs of your high-risk employees as well as program ideas to maintain the health of your company’s general population. We will include evidence-based tools such as employee orientations, self-care guides, group behavior-change programs, and individual coaching. And, because research has shown that the use of incentives significantly improves participation in workplace wellness programs, we will determine what incentives are appropriate for your workforce.
Phase III: Implementation
Your workplace wellness program will be implemented during the timeframe defined in the planning stage, typically one to three years. Depending upon the scope of your initiative, your program may include the following components:
- Employee and spouse orientation
- Worksite and environmental wellness improvements
- Group lifestyle management programs such as the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking and the healthy lifestyle programs Healthy Eating Living Every Day™ and Active Living Every Day™
- Stress resiliency programs
- Lunch and learn (various topics including heath care consumerism, self-care)

Phase IV: Evaluation
Program effectiveness and benefits are measured in the evaluation phase. We review results of individual interventions compared with your company’s ongoing healthcare claim experience to identify the program impact and outcome. This way, you can build on the successes you’ve experienced thus far and continue to positively impact the health of both your employees and your company.
