Top Three Wellbeing Articles - Week of February 5th, 2018

Each week I read a number of wellbeing articles from various online resources. Here are my top three picks from this week. I have added my comments about each article and would like to hear what you think too.

This week we focused on a theme of mindfulness in the workplace. Don't miss this blog "How to Influence Innovative Thinking and Motivate People: A Culture of Mindfulness" or this Expert Interview with Tara Healey of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Evidence for Mindfulness: A Research Summary for the Corporate Sceptic. by Theo Winter (ATD)

This article answers three questions: What is mindfulness? What research has been done? and Why should anyone in the business sector care. The article also provides a synopsis of 11 research articles.

My comments: This is a fabulous article if you are: 1) new to the concepts of mindfulness or 2) a sceptic about mindfulness. It provides a great overview, business justification and summary of research.

The Nine Best Ways to Boost Workplace  Mindfulness Success by James Martin (Tech Target Network)

This article provides very specific tips on that will increase your success with a mindfulness program.

My comments: So often I hear from business professionals that they are considering implementing mindfulness programs but don't know where to start. Try these tips and see how they work.

Has Mindfulness Become The New Kale. by Dr. Kristie Lee  (HuffPost)

Is mindfulness another passing fad? Does it really have impact in the workplace? As with some of the other articles this week, this article provides evidence of how mindfulness is good for your health and your work life.

My comments: The increasing amount of research is supporting that mindfulness is not just another fad. The adoption by many businesses and the supporting research are making it an essential leadership skill.
