Every Business Has A Strategy

Every business has a strategy.

A strategy provides the direction and path forward to achieve objectives. The strategy is centered on the purpose and mission of the organization and defines priorities. It defines what’s important.

An organization that makes a commitment to developing an employee well-being strategy makes a statement about what is important. It says, ‘our people matter’ and ‘we care about our employees’ well-being’

An employee well-being strategy has a vision of an aspirational state in the future. It also includes a mission statement defining how the organization will achieve that vision. A gap exists between where the organization is today and that future vision. The strategic plan defines how they will close that gap.

Beyond the big picture vision, there are many operational elements that need to be considered in the strategy:

  • Administrative Infrastructure. As with any business strategy, it defines how resources will be employed to bring well-being resources to the workforce.

  • Marketing. Marketing is an essential element of a well-being strategy. For employees to engage and benefit from the well-being initiative, they need to know about the variety of programs and resources available. A marketing strategy defines the brand, messaging approach and marketing channels.

  • Measurement and Evaluation. Ever business measures progress against its goals. The well-being strategy identifies what methods will be used to measure progress and evaluate results and impact.

As organizations make the investment in developing an employee well-being strategy, their employees will benefit and thrive.
