Thriving, Struggling, or Suffering?

Thriving, struggling, or suffering. Where are your employees today?

When employees are suffering, their well-being is at high risk.
These employees are more likely to report lacking the basics of food and shelter, more likely to have physical pain, a lot of stress, worry, sadness, and anger. They may have less access to health insurance and care, and more than double the disease burden.

When employees are struggling, their well-being is at moderate risk or inconsistent.
These employees report more daily stress and worry about money, and more than double the amount of sick days. They are more likely to smoke, and are less likely to eat healthy.

When employees are thriving, their well-being that is strong, consistent, and progressing

These employees report fewer health problems, fewer sick days, less worry, stress, sadness, anger, and more happiness, enjoyment, interest, and respect. As you can probably guess, they are more likely to be engaged and less likely to leave. What’s not to love about that!

How can you tell if your employees are thriving, struggling, or suffering? Chances are that their manager knows where they stand. Managers see what is going on daily or weekly with their team members.

Educating managers on the impact well-being has on your workforce is one step to start to uncover where your employees are today. Developing an overall corporate strategy for employee well-being can provide you with the data you need to understand your workforce’s well-being needs and to develop an overall approach to help all your employees thrive. Remember, your business thrives, when your employees are thriving.
