A thriving workplace starts with thriving employees

Would you agree with the statement “a business can’t achieve their objectives without their employees”?

Would you agree with the statement “a thriving workplace starts with thriving employees?”

What does it mean for employees to thrive?

Thriving employees have well-being that is strong, consistent, and progressing. They report fewer health problems, take fewer sick days, they experience less stress and more happiness.

When employees aren’t thriving, they are either struggling or suffering.

Struggling employees have well-being that is moderate or inconsistent. They have more daily stress, perhaps some of that may be driven by financial concerns. They take double the number of sick days. They are also more likely to have habits such as smoking or unhealthy eating.

Suffering employees have well-being that is at high risk. They are more likely to be experiencing food or housing insecurity, may be experiencing health issues that cause physical pain, and have numerous sources of stress. These individuals may also have less access to health insurance and high-quality health care.

It probably goes without saying that thriving employees are more engaged, more productive, and less likely to leave.

For your business to thrive and achieve sustainable business results, your people need to be thriving. Start by focusing on the well-being of your people so that both the people and the business thrive.
